Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has formally admitted over 4,500 students into its various academic programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session, in a colourful matriculation ceremony that underscored the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and discipline.
The event brought together university officials, parents, and well-wishers who gathered to witness the formal induction of the new intakes into the academic community.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Eunice Omozejie, presided over the ceremony, administering the matriculation oath to the students and officially welcoming them into the university system. She charged the fresh students to see their admission as a privilege that must be matched with dedication, discipline, and a strong commitment to their studies.
In her address, Professor Omozejie emphasized the core values of the institution, urging the students to uphold academic integrity, mutual respect, and responsible citizenship throughout their stay in the university. She noted that Ambrose Alli University remains committed to providing a conducive environment that nurtures critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.
“As you embark on this journey, I want to emphasize the importance of academic integrity, respect for others, and responsible citizenship,” she said. “We strive to create an environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and intellectual curiosity.”
The Vice-Chancellor, however, sounded a strong warning against involvement in cultism and other social vices, describing such activities as inimical to the growth of both the individual and the institution.
She reiterated the university’s firm stance on maintaining a safe and disciplined academic environment.
“However, we will not tolerate any form of social vice, including cultism, that undermines our values and threatens the safety of our community,” she declared. “We have zero tolerance for such activities, and anyone found engaging in them will face severe consequences.”
She further advised the students to choose their associations carefully and remain focused on their academic goals, stressing that success in the university requires not only intelligence but also discipline and good character.
She encouraged them to take advantage of available academic resources and support systems within the institution.
The matriculation ceremony marks the beginning of the students’ academic journey at Ambrose Alli University, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the new entrants will contribute positively to the institution’s legacy.
The university management reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high academic standards while ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
