NUC Appoints AAU EKPOMA As Mentor University for Mudiamen University, Irrua

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has appointed Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, as the mentor university for Mudiamen University Irrua in Edo State. 

The development was disclosed during a courtesy visit by the Vice-Chancellor of Mudiamen University, Irrua Engr. Prof. Emmanuel  Aluyor to the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Prof Mrs Eunice Omonzejie at the Ekpoma campus.
Speaking during the visit, the Mudiamen University Vice-Chancellor explained that the appointment by the National Universities Commission forms part of the regulatory framework designed to guide young and newly established  private universities. 
According to him, the mentorship arrangement is expected to help Mudiamen University develop strong academic structures, quality assurance mechanisms and administrative stability in its formative years.
He noted that under the mentorship programme, Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma will provide academic guidance, institutional support and professional advice to ensure that Mudiamen University aligns with national standards for higher education. 

The collaboration, he added, would also encourage knowledge sharing, staff development and curriculum strengthening.
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Prof Mrs Eunice Omonzejie expressed appreciation to the National Universities Commission for the confidence reposed in the institution. She assured the visiting team that AAUE would fully discharge its responsibilities as a mentor institution by providing the necessary technical and academic support required for the smooth running and growth of Mudiamen University, Irrua.
She further emphasized that the mentorship role reflects Ambrose Alli University’s longstanding reputation as a centre of academic excellence and institutional leadership within Nigeria’s university system.

 According to her, the partnership would also promote inter-institutional cooperation and strengthen the overall development of tertiary education in the country.
The visit also provided an opportunity for both university management teams to discuss possible areas of collaboration, including staff training, academic programme development and research partnerships. Observers say the mentorship arrangement is expected to contribute significantly to the successful establishment and sustainable growth of Mudiamen University.
