The Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) has announced that the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Mrs. Eunice Omonzejie, will serve as the Guest of Honour at its 2026 National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The highly anticipated event is scheduled to hold on August 27, 2026, in Benin City, Edo State, and is expected to attract leading psychologists, academics, and industry practitioners from across the country and beyond.
According to Mrs. Wonderful Ezra-Oderinde while leading State officials of the Association on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor said the conference, themed “Psychology as a Tool for National Development: Bridging Science, Practice, and Emerging Technologies for a Healthy Society,” will explore the critical role of psychological science in addressing contemporary societal challenges.
It aims to foster robust discourse on how psychology can be effectively integrated into policy formulation, healthcare delivery, education, and technological innovation for sustainable national growth.According to an official invitation letter issued by the General Secretary of the association, Dr. Joseph Tyover Kiva, Professor Omonzejie’s presence at the event underscores her remarkable contributions to academia and institutional leadership.
The letter noted that her participation as Guest of Honour would further enrich discussions at the conference and inspire stakeholders toward harnessing psychological knowledge for national development.The NPA conference and AGM will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and technical sessions designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice in the field of psychology.
