The Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Mrs. Eunice Omonzejie, has called for calm, patience, and renewed hope among members of the university community, despite the seeming challenges facing the institution.
In an Easter message released by the university’s Public Relations Office, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the current difficulties over the delay in the payment of March salaries. She assured that steps are being taken to address the issues.
Professor Omonzejie emphasized that the welfare of staff remains a priority, noting that efforts are ongoing to resolve salary concerns through appropriate channels. She appealed to workers to remain patient while management continues engagement with relevant authorities to ensure a lasting solution.
She also urged students to stay focused on their academic activities, assuring them that the university management is determined to sustain academic stability and prevent disruptions to the academic calendar.
Drawing from the significance of the Easter season, Professor Omonzejie encouraged staff and students to embrace the values of sacrifice, resilience, and hope, expressing confidence that the institution will overcome its present challenges.
The Vice-Chancellor further called on all stakeholders, including staff unions, alumni, and government partners, to collaborate in the interest of peace, unity, and progress of the university.
Quoting the university’s Public Relations Officer, Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, who also serves as the Head of Information, Protocol and Public Relations, the statement reiterated management’s commitment to transparency and continuous communication with the university community.
“Management remains open and committed to engaging all stakeholders constructively. We urge members of the university community to remain calm and supportive as efforts are being intensified to resolve all outstanding issues,” Aladenika stated.
He added that the Easter message underscores the Vice-Chancellor’s optimism that Ambrose Alli University will emerge stronger, more united, and better positioned for growth in the near future.
