EKPOMA – In recognition of her outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to students' welfare, the National Association of University Students (NAUS), Edo State Chapter, has conferred its prestigious Patronship on the Vice-Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Professor Mrs. Eunice Omonzejie.
The honour, bestowed during a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor's office, was presented by the Deputy Senate President of the association, Comrade Nathaniel T. Favour, alongside the Chairman of the NAUS Stakeholders, Comrade Ogochukwu Isioma. The student leaders praised Professor Omonzogie's administration for its student-centred policies, accessibility, and unwavering support for initiatives that promote the welfare and academic success of students across the institution.
According to the NAUS leaders, the Vice-Chancellor has continued to demonstrate uncommon commitment to sustaining industrial harmony, strengthening the relationship between the university management and students, and creating an enabling environment for learning and personal development. They described the patronship as a well-deserved recognition of a leader whose administration has inspired confidence and earned the admiration of the student community.
Responding, Professor Omonzogie expressed profound appreciation to the leadership of NAUS for the honour, describing the award as a source of encouragement and a challenge to remain steadfast in providing purposeful and inclusive leadership. She reaffirmed the university's commitment to prioritising students' welfare, protecting the integrity of the institution, and sustaining policies that promote academic excellence and character development.
The ceremony reached its climax as the NAUS delegation formally decorated the Vice-Chancellor with the official insignia of the association, signifying her investiture as Patron of the Edo State Chapter of the National Association of University Students. The event was witnessed by principal officers of the university and members of the students' delegation, who applauded the honour as a reflection of the cordial relationship between the university management and the student body.
