The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAUE), Ekpoma, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Eunice Omonzejie, has visited the family of the founder of LoveWorld, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, following the death of his mother, Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome, at the age of 88. The university delegation visited the family to identify with them following the passing of the matriarch, whom the Vice-Chancellor described as a woman who successfully instilled strong Christian values in her children.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Omonzejie said the late Deaconess Oyakhilome lived a life worthy of emulation, particularly in the upbringing of her children. “Mama lived a good life worthy of emulation. She brought all her children up in the ways of God, which has shown in the lives of all the children, as none has departed from the godly principles she laid down,” she said.
The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s relationship with the university, describing him as a worthy ambassador of both his family and his alma mater.
“Our brother and alumnus, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has been a worthy ambassador of your family and our university, whose legacy of support stands tall on our campus and in our hearts,” she said. Prof. Omonzejie urged the family to remain consoled by the values and legacy left behind by their mother, while assuring them of the university community’s support at the difficult time.
Receiving the delegation, the eldest daughter of the deceased, Pastor B. Akhuemokhan, thanked the Vice-Chancellor and members of the university management for making out time to visit the family. Speaking through Pastor Henry Amenkhienan, Pastor Akhuemokhan expressed the family’s appreciation for the gesture and said they looked forward to receiving the university management at the final burial ceremony.
The delegation comprised the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Andrew Eromonsele; Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Osagie Ekhator; Registrar, Mrs. Oluwayomi Omolegho Agbebaku; Acting Bursar, Dr. Taiwo Agbaje; PAR/VCO, Dr. Mrs. Fedelia Omokhomion; and PAR/Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Otunba Mike Aladenika.
